Agricultural Security

Since the start of the program in 1989, approximately 202 parcels of land, encompassing approximately 6,075 acres, have enrolled in the Lower Milford Township Agricultural Security Area.  Of the over 6,000 acres in the Security Area, approximately 3,000 acres have been permanently preserved through the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program.

The first Agricultural Conservation Easement entered into in Lehigh County, is the Graber Farm located on Kings Highway in Lower Milford Township.

We accept Agricultural Security Area applications for owners of property consisting of 30 acres or more in Lower Milford and Upper Saucon Townships.  If your property adjoins a property currently enrolled in the Agricultural Security Area, and you own 10 acres or more, you may also qualify to enroll.

To apply for enrollment  in the Agricultural Security Area, you may submit an application to the Lower Milford Township office.

Once you have been accepted into the Agricultural Security Area, you may take further steps to preserve your land by contacting the Lehigh County Agricultural Center, Land Preservation Board at 610-391-9583 ext. 15.
